Can we first just talk about how it's MARCH 12 already?
In terms of marking off holidays through the year
(because that's how sane people keep track of time obviously)
we've only got St. Patty's, Easter, my birthday (yeah that's right),
Memorial Day, Fourth of July, the birth of the royal fetus (yeah. that's right. again.),
Labor Day, and then it's Halloween again. It was just Halloween.
Mindblown.
Aaaaand.... back to business we go.
Day 12 of the Blogging Challenge:
Close your eyes. Think of a time you were very happy.
you mean to tell me you don't spend your time trying to get Oreos from your eyeball into your mouth?
I have my entire freshman year in my mind.
Not just my freshman year - but my freshman dorm.
I sound like an old broken record by now,
but truly, truly I've met my soulmates here.
My soulmates do strange ish, that's the moral of the story.
In seriousness though,
it's those little moments I miss so much.
Simply sitting in the hallways doing our homework together.
All of us eating our meals together in our dorm eating area just for us.
Bus rides to Tahoe for a ski weekend,
opera trips where we dressed all fancy but fell asleep,
nighttimes when we meandered around the halls finding people to chat with.
And then there's this year,
where I spend my daytime and my nighttime and all-time
except naptime doing computer science homework.
Done with life. Bye.
What a funny post.

Ah freshman year...I hear you. for some reason, I feel like everyone in college (maybe even out of college? do those people have feelings?) has a certain amount of nostalgia for freshman year. we all just pause, reflect, then say "we were all so...stupid! but in a good way?"
ReplyDeleteAw, this is so sweet. My freshman year was the same way. I went from high school and thinking I sort of had best friends to being with the most incredible and inspiring people. It sounds like you did something similar :)
