There is nothing more terrifying than opening one eye to snooze your alarm for the fourth time,
and seeing a gosh-darn ANT crawling next to your face on your beloved pillow.
DEAR ANT, please get out of my personal safe/warm/snuggly/clean bubble.
I have half a mind to lecture you about the definition of an invasion of privacy,
but then I'd have to kill you. (Oh wait, I already did.)
Rant over.
{Dear universe, if this stupid ant infestation is a test to see if I'm capable of handling my twenties,
I'll just tell you right now that I can't & I vote to stay a teen forever thankyouverymuch.}
Rant really over.

Cherry blossoms!
Our few little baby trees are pretty far off from DC's blossoms,
but oh boy are they trying their hardest.
And they are so special -
these pictures were taken when they were already not at their fullest.
But at their peak, they were all soft and pink and fluttery.
And every time I walked by, I'd feel all "Memoirs of a Geisha," -
a breeze would blow by and a whole lot of blossoms would drift by me,
and I swear, I've never smelled anything so sweetly, pleasantly delightful,
and everything and the world was just terrific.
And then the ants showed up.
Beautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! I can't wait to see more here in Wisconsin.

I hear you about the ant! One night I found a spider on my bed, tried to catch him but he escaped. I had to go sleep in another room since I couldn't find him. All I could think about was waking up with a spider on my face ack!
ReplyDeletePretty photos.

ReplyDeleteHa ha the only thing worse then that is waking up out of a sound sleeping knowing a roach was walking on you. This happened to me twice when I was living in dorms in NYC!

The cherry blossoms are gorgeous. The ants on the other hand are not. I hate ants and we had a few in our house this past week. EEW!!

My town is all pretty in pink too.. the cherry blossoms make me so happy.
ReplyDeleteAs for the ants.. if you can figure out where they are coming from.. even the general location.. lay down some cornmeal. they will eat it and it'll kill them...
I think I remember something about salt too but I can't remember that now.
Aw, these are beautiful - wish we had them here in my city. I'm still waiting for the cherry blossoms to bloom here in Toronto but it looks like it may take awhile as we just received another snowfall (Yes, in April!).
