If combustion by happiness was a thing,
I'd be a puddle of a rainbow of glittery, bedazzled confetti right about now.
This weekend, it was poof! I may or may not have peed my pants. A little.
Poof! I was twirling in graceful circles in a poppy field.
Poof! Poof! Po- you get the point.
Here's why: I got to see just about 97% of those on my list of favorite people in the world - those special beings who don't even need to constantly feed me gourmet meals with a gold spoon and compliment me on my every aspect for me to like them.
A brief (ha!) rundown of the highlights of the past four days:
FRIDAY: Celebrated our reunion with Michelle with some major grease and cheese // went and picked up Brina* from her hotel // came home and introduced her to everyone and anyone and did my best to prove that she actually is my best friend from home and not a look-a-like I hired to trick everyone into thinking that I might have friends at home. // had a eventful jolly night with old friends, new friends, and very new friends. Started off with Tim Tam Slams, and ended at 7am when Brina and I finally dozed off after spending the entire night talking. I love best friends.//
SATURDAY: bid adieu to Brina // long-awaited Starbucks play-date w/ Michelle // a yummy lunch, where it was acknowledged that Cassandra and I act even more twin-ly than the twins do // went on a mission to find a famous sculpture on campus (because that's what you do when you feel like death), but instead we found a secret garden complete with a pond and ducks // went out** together for the first time ever, and reunited with loads and loads of our very favorite people // CASH CAB, Stanford Edition***
SUNDAY: went to the library to get a group project done, but convinced my partners to work outside in the sun instead because then I could put my sunglasses on and sneak a few Z's // devoured mac and cheese and a scrumptious sandwich at Pluto's with the roommate and the twins AND THEN went on to conquer Yogurtland directly after // unzipped pants because they were cutting off my circulation // told everyone we would go to the gym, but instead went over to our guy friends' suite to watch Arrested Development & weird Netflix test videos.
MONDAY****: Woke up within 5 minutes of our designated meeting time with the twins. Being prompt - it ain't no thang // Found this waiting for us***** // Met up with my (real) (biological) (I wouldn't-have-it-any-other-way) sister and walked around Palo Alto, noshed on dimsum and noodle soup at Steam, and then ate gelato in the rain // did nothing for the rest of the day except inhale the yummy cupcakes that my sister brought for me and then we all Skyped with our friend Pablo who now lives in a barn in Arizona with a family of owls (dead. serious.), and now hello! Here I am!
**By "went out," I mean we pleaded with our friend Jake to let us into the kitchen, where we ate cereal for half an hour while we observed other people party.
***Remember all of the real-world, practical advice we learned in kindergarten? Stranger danger, don't get in sketchy looking cars, and/or don't take offers from people that seem too good to be true? I'm just here to tell you (sorry parents), that after a long night out dancing with friends & your legs seem to be falling off, and you still have twenty minutes to walk in the freezing cold with only a tank top on... all of that goes out the window. Into the sketchy car we go, and thank God we did - because this "Cash Cab" was the fun-nest 10 minutes I can remember - and we won an Oreo for our trivial knowledge!
****Thank you, veterans. Thank you, those of you currently serving our country. Thank you, to your families and loved ones. Thank you, for sharing your day with us.
