Public Service Announcement*

All you people preparing to head off to college in the fall,

or plan on moving anywhere temporary in any capacity,

your mother and my mother and I have a word of advice:

That one shirt with the cute ruffles that would be perfect for sailing (only)?

Five navy cardigans - each with a unique little detail that makes it different?

Everything that you want to bring because you "might" need it?

You'll never need it.

And the cool trick is, if you do end up needing it...

you have twenty bajillion girlfriends living with you or by you,

one of them will have what you need. In a cuter version.

And if that still doesn't work -

you now have an excuse to go shopping.

Don't do what I did.

Because when you need to leave, all you'll get out of it is migraines and this:

{As I'm writing this, I'm cramming my hol(e)y Tory Burch leopard flats,
into my already bursting-at-the-seams suitcase.
Oh well, you win some, you lose some.}

who can attest that bringing too much unnecessary stuff
will only result in having to sit down in the middle of the floor,
surrounded by all of your so-called "treasures,"
and sobbing at your own stupidity.

And then a phone call to your sister,
who saved the day by bringing a whole 'nother suitcase...
