Last night, I took cover in my parents' room for a solid 20 minutes,
because the lightning was turning me into an overly anxious Chihuahua.
It made me think of all of my other unusual, irrational fears -
most of them are a bit of a joke with my friends, and for good reason.
But hey, I never claimed to be normal. Or sane.
I thought I'd share them with you guys, as well.
I'm terrified of spiders and snakes and rats and something happening to my loved ones,
but I think those are all fears inherent in being a human.
These fears, though. These fears are inherent in a weirdo.
You guys are welcome to join me in hiding under the bed table.
If my neurotic tendencies haven't scared you away yet, that is.
I can be fun, I promise, and normal sometimes - I like froyo! Stay!

What are your unique, irrational fears?
-
haha, these are unique, but makes them you. I have a totally irrational fear of snails. It's gotten slightly better, but if I see one on the sidewalk, it's hard for me to even walk past it...seriously. Sometimes I have to go back into the house and get my husband to move it from the sidewalk. My fear stems from my sister throwing them at me and them getting stuck in my hair...ewwww
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm reading a really good book I do the same thing! I try to "save" it. I just don't want it to end. One of my fears is train tracks. Something about them really freak me out and I don't like driving down a street that makes me cross them.
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you on fear of missing out- although I've gotten better lately. I am deathly afraid of rodents.
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious! I've suffered with the fear of missing out plenty of times.
ReplyDeleteOur Fairy Tale
I completely agree with 4 and 9! But then you have to realize that one human being could not possibly have the time to do everything haha. And I was so sad when I finished the last harry potter book :(
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy reading your blog...so entertaining!

Pigeons...yes!!! Why aren't they afraid of humans. So strange. And also FOMO...a recent college freshman told me about that acronym. I definitely had that fear up until about a few years ago...now I'm over it...and like sleep instead :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great post! I have a fear of plants...really large / slimy ones. I mean, they are ALIVE...I just don't trust them.
ReplyDeleteOoh. I'm just afraid of insects :P I might be afraid of more things that I don't know of yet! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletekeep in touch!

My mum is afraid of pigeons too. When I was little, I would chase them and they would land on her or poop on her, so now she hates them.
ReplyDeleteI have a fear of missing out! D: I brought my iPhone to Paris during fashion week, thinking I could use Instagram to know where all my favorite models were. I thought that was the smartest way to make sure I didn't miss out on meeting any of them. However, it didn't occur to me that I wouldn't be able to connect to the WiFi there...
This was so cute! I may jump about four feet from the floor onto my bed at night to avoid my feet being anywhere near the underside of my bed. I mean, what if something grabs me! eek!
ReplyDeleteI thought I was the only one who took not wanting to finish a book or show to such a degree! I didn't read the last page (yes just one little page) of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for 2 weeks because I didn't want it to end.
ReplyDeleteAnd my biggest fear in the entire world is fish. I mean their just so gross looking; I can't stand them
I love this post! #4 and #7 for suuure.

omgosh i'm like this on sooooo many accounts.. I'm always scared to plug things in.. sometimes i'll purposely ask my husband to do it just to avoid it.. I've never been shocked either.. but I just have a very strong aversion to plugging anything in for the FEAR of getting shocked HAHAHA. and omgosh if I even take out my camera one day.. and when I get home.. it has even ONE bar missing.. I MUST charge it in. I feel like if there's every a day that i'm out and about and my camera doesn't work. then it's like my left lung is gone hahahahaha!
ReplyDelete#6 is so me ^^
ReplyDeleteOMG that is pretty funny about hiding under the bed at 18. But lightening if your struck is no joke. And it can happen in doors but it is not common. Which is a good thing!

Escalators.. i was afraid of them as a child and in all honesty they still scare me a bit.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about a good show/book. Though I don't think I'd call it fear.. but of a deep sadness.
I love your list, so cute. I'm afraid of snakes, just seeing a picture or one on TV or something and I start panicking really badly. I almost passed out once when I saw a tiny one in my parents backyard (ugh even typing it now makes me sooo queasy!)
ReplyDeletehhahaha.. i love your posts like this!! makes me think out of the box and at the same time, forget some other "serious stresses" i have in life right now aka WORK! hahaha!
ReplyDeleteirrational fear? I'm paranoid of missing to do something on my daily checklist. i think I'm just a li'l bit OCD like that. hahaha! post its are my BFF, i swear!
