Paris Is Always A Good Idea || Part I

Ha, sooooo... I might've underestimated the rigor of the courseload required of us for the Oxford program. I've been buried under a heap of caffeine, 100-page readings, raunchy plays written in Old English (such a joy), essay-writing and self-pity calories for the past few days. It's severely cut into my TV time, which cuts me to the core. Let's go ahead and consider this week to be a harsh wake-up call.

...A wake-up call from the three weeks before this week, that is. The previous two weeks were packed with a good bit of absolutely nothing - exploring the area, cooking, napping, and watching Notting Hill. The week before that was even dreamier. You've seen London and Rome. Now, it's time to show off my time in Paris! (You see now why the transition was a tough one to make.)
{ delicious sandwiches and Orangina to celebrate a successful EasyJet flight }
{ walked to and up the Arc de Triomphe || breathtaking views and the best introduction to Paris, but boy do I now understand why it's named the way it is. Feeling triumphant after crawling up those stairs and not passing out is the biggest understatement. }
{ after a brief peek at the Champs-Elysees, we took a very long albeit gorgeous stroll towards the Eiffel Tower. We saw police chasing people illegally selling souvenirs. I felt like I was watching a live version of the beginning of 21 Jump Street. }
{ in Paris, we made a strong effort to stick with classic French dishes. Here you find frog legs, French onion soup, and snaily snails in garlic butter. Oh, and salmon and white rice because obviously that's classic Parisian cuisine, right there. }
{ and of course, the Eiffel Tower, lit up and sparkling in all its glory! I botched up a Photoshop job, but you get the gist of how very magical and enchanting it was. }

After that adventure, these little piggies were more than exhausted and hailed a cab to zip us back to the hotel for a good, long snooze.
